Every choice is a lie you get to pick between.

Entropic is a top-down survival roguelike built for COMPFEST 18's "Order in Disorder" game jam. Fight through an endless swarm, and every level-up forces a choice: an Order card, promising clean and reliable power — or a Chaos card, promising raw and unpredictable strength.

Neither one tells you the truth.

Lean into Order, and your build gets stronger — but every rule you accept locks something away. Your attack mode gets stuck. Your movement gets boxed into straight lines. The "safe" choice slowly takes the controller out of your hands.

Lean into Chaos, and your build gets riskier — but the noise starts to resolve. Random rolls start favoring you. Your flickering attack mode gets a tell you can read. The "risky" choice becomes something you can master.

There's no pure path through this. The arena mirrors your build back at you — the more you commit to one side, the more enemies of that same alignment come looking for you. Order enemies get harder to fight the more Order you've stacked. Chaos enemies get easier the more Chaos you've learned to read.

How long can you survive the thing you chose to become?

• A binary card system — Order (left) vs Chaos (right) — every choice reshapes your build and your fight
• Mouse-aimed melee (expanding pulse) and ranged combat, switchable mid-fight — until your build decides you can't
• An arena and player identity that shift live with your build: clean geometric order vs. glitching, flickering chaos
• Enemies that mirror your alignment back at you, with a difficulty curve that punishes over-committing to Order and rewards mastering Chaos
• Full run-end stats: how long you survived, how far you got, what you became
